ORIGINAL ANTIQUE RARE RELIGIOUS POCKET WATCH, VIRGIN MARY & JESUCHRIST, SAINT SPIRIT DIAL, CIRCA 1900.

DIAL: original silver tone dial, decorated with a delicate representation of the Saint Spirit in relief. Please refer to the pictures. Original blue metal hands.

CASE: original silver tone metal case, open face, decorated outside back cover with the figure of Jesus Christ in relief. Case shows some use (there were some classic latin words arround the figure of Christ which are not visible anymore due to wear). Dust cover is masterfully  decorated with the figure of Virgin Mary in relief and the following praying sentence in classic latin: ORA PRO NOBIS NUNC ET IN HORA MORTIS around the figure of Mary. Inside her divine aureole, there are the following three words (classic latin) GANCIA MARIA VIRGO. Bezel has de following classic-latin  sentence in relief: AB ORTUS SOLIS USQUE  AD OCCASUM (from sunrise to sunset). As seen at the pictures, bezel also shows some wear to the letters in relief. Rare & beautiful lobulated hanging ring.
This watch probably belonged to a Carmelite order as they used both images, Virgin Mary & Jesuchrist,  together.

MOVEMENT: original mechanical with manual winding movement; in working order. It is signed CHRONOMETRE  PRIMA 15 RUBIS 116500 DEPOSÉ

RUNNING: Yes, it is in working order (not checked for accuracy).

MEASURES: 51mm diameter not including its winding crown or its lobulated hanging ring.

AGE: circa 1900.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: very good general conditions, showing some wear (see pictures, please).
