Presented here, a robust elegant ART DECÓ brooch made in rose gold over solid silver. No hallmarks has been found so it has been profesionally acid-tested.
The brooch is decorated with a total of six (6) NATURAL DIAMONDS, old doble-rose cut: two of them measure 3mm diameter approx, other two diamonds measure 2mm diameter approx and the last two ones measure 1.50mm diameter. All of them are set in pavé style with grains. The six (6) natural diamonds show a bright white commercial color.
At the center of the brooch there is a hazel color czech crystal, octogonal cut, measuring 17 X 20mm. It is set with four robust claws.
The brooch has an original symmetrical design consisting in different organic inspired elements which were typical from the reknowed Catalan artistic movement from the first half of the past Century, called "Modernisme". So, this Catalan Art Deco brooch blends the geometric precision of the 1920s and 30s with Barcelona’s unique "Modernista" heritage. These unique pieces are often crafted in silver with gold "vistas" (overlays).
The organic "snail" evolved into the "volute"—a tight, coiled spring. This symbolized compressed energy and the "machine age. While Modernisme was wild and overgrown, Art Deco spirals are symmetrical and polished. Architects like Antoni Gaudí viewed the snail shell (caragol) as a masterpiece of natural engineering. It represented the "divine geometry" of the Fibonacci sequence.
Tube clousure ("half trombone" clasp).
