4500 GORGEOUS 18K GOLD, NATURAL DIAMONDS, TURQUOISES & TRANSLUCENT MULTI COLOR ENAMEL, VIRGIN MARY PENDANT
 
  This outstanding 18K yellow gold, natural diamonds, turquoises, ivory and TRANSLUCENT MULTICOLOR ENAMEL medal depicts an exquisite frontal representation in delicately handcarved ivory of the Virgin Mary with halo and demi closed eyes in a serene meditating attitude. The hallo is decorated at its top side with a total of five (5) natural diamonds, three of which are set in beautiful five-petals-flower-shaped white gold ornated bezel and at their sides, there are two more diamonds set in round ornated bezel (see pics, please). All five diamonds measure 2mm diameter, each, and they are old-rose cut (3 facets). Surrounding the rest of the halo and ending to rest on Virgin Mary shoulders, there are eight (8) tiny  blue and greenish natural turquoises, cabochon cut and ornated bezel set.  BLUE, GREEN AND RED TRANSLUCENT ENAMEL is completing this exquisite composition, see the pictures please, the last ones are made using a high light lamp in order to appreciate the intensity of the vivid colours. The technique used to create the translucent enamel was mastered  during the artistic period called Modernism, by the outsanding Catalan artist Josep Masriera, although his signature is not found in this medal, it could easily been created by one of his pupils, as it has been found in Barcelona city, where Masriera had his main workshop.
Also, there is the unique and robust gold frame, masterfully ciselled, precisely framing the composition. It is decorated with two roses at its top side and a leaves motif under the two fierce turquoises near the Virgin Mary's shoulders (see pics, please). At the bottom of the frame, there are four (4) more natural diamonds: three tiny ones, rose cut and measuring between one and two milimeters, each. The fourth natural diamond is hanging and dangling from the very bottom of the pendant. It is set in a white gold mounting in illusion style with four robust claws. This diamond is old-european-cut H-I color and measures 3mm diameter (so its weight is .10carats approx). 
 
  This medal is hallmarked at the hanging  ring at its top part. However, the hallmark is quite difficult to read and therefore the medal has also been profesionally acid tested.
