Exquisite antique silver pendant adorned with a miniature oval shaped enamel portrait depicting the side view of a young boy or child wearing a red chemise and a green decorated hat, please refer to the pictures.
The 18th-century style miniature is set in a silver frame which is set with half pearls. This artistic composition also shows a delicate bow at its lower part, decorated with tiny half-pearls and finished off with a hanging pearl, see pictures, please.
The openable back side, oval shaped, has a tiny human-hair bride protected by a crystal. This tiny bride was probably from a deceased loved one, so I asume it is some sort of reliquary. The frame holding the crystal is hinged to the oval case itself.
These pendants are characteristic of the Napoleon III period, whose historical style, developed during the late 19th century, made a return to 18th century artistic style.
