Presented for your consideration, a Gorgeous antique medal or medalion representing Our Lady of Immaculate Conception surrounded by two cherubs. The medal is made in silver and is masterfully decorated with sky-blue color fire enamel on its back side. This back side has three dings, at three o'clock position, at nine and at six; fortunately, most of the blue color on these areas still there (please refer to the pictures). The front side shows an extremely beautiful fire enamel depicting the enraptured face of Virgin Mary with her crossed hands over her chest.  Please note the exquisite attention to detail. There is a bit of enamel lost at six o'clock position and also on the right area (from one to four o'clock position approx).  Fortunately, the main image is not affected for the dings, please refer to the pictures.

This beautiful medal also has a movable frame of fourty-three (43)  tiny white color natural or cultured pearls. Each pearl measures 2mm diameter approx. 

The top part of the medalion has a hanging ring .

MEASURES:  the enameled silve medal measures 29mm diameter itself, not including hanging ring or the movable pearl-made frame. 35mm diameter including the pearls frame.

 

ESTIMATED AGE: circa 1890.

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS: very good general conditions, even considering it has some dings resulting in enamel loss but they do not affect the main image nor the base color of the medalion. Please refer to the pìctures.
